Creating a classic pin-up

When creating a classic pin-up photograph, there often is a sub-story in the shot. The pin-up needs a “reason” for being there. In this case she was going on a picnic. The client brought a classic car to the studio which really helped to sell the notion of a classic pin-up, and gives the photographer some great creative options.

Of course, some classic-looking lingerie along with some fishnet stockings and we are on our way to making this pin-up photography work. There is nothing more seductive than wearing sexy stockings with different accessories, as this can really help the picture, and your vision, come to life. This type of lingerie can do wonders for the female body and enhancing the attraction that people could feel towards it.

Ultimately, embodying a pin up is all about celebrating the female form in all its glory. You might even want to take a look at some adult content from a website such as https://www.collegeporn.xxx/ to inspire your next pin up shoot.

Whether it is modern boudoir or classic pin-up photography, I like to keep the image really focused on the person. So props are used minimally, and in the case for example we only see a small portion of the car to keep the focus on the beautiful pin-up.

Shapes and Shadows for Fine Art Nudes

Fine art nude photography can take on a variety of styles. I find that the looks I tend to shoot really are focused on two key elements – shapes and shadows. Often a simple twist on a pose will create an interesting shape.

Then again a simple pose can create the most beautiful shape with wonderful curves and lines.

Shadow and light are my favorite tools for creating interesting fine art nudes. They create unique bodyscapes that are just amazing.

So when you come for your boudoir or glamour photography sessions at our Tempe, Arizona studio, just remember that your photographer can always add some fine art nude photographs to your session.

Boudoir Photo Shoot Star

Every week I have a few clients who really stand out and don’t mind sharing a bit from their shoot. This week I think you can see why she was proud to let this photo be used.

In the Bedroom with Jes

My favorite shoot of the week was one with Jes that we shot in the bedroom. She wanted her boudoir and glamour photographs to be very sexy but still remain modest. So my photographer mind went to work on creating the perfect poses to give her the look she wanted.

She loved the entire shoot. We did a wide variety of looks to make sure the book we were creating would have a new sexy surprise with each turn of the page. I thinks someone is going to be very happy when they see the result.

Retro Glamour Look – Just Ask

Clients come to me with all kinds of requests. Whatever the desire, I do everything I can to give them exactly what they want. This time Amy wanted one of her photographs to have a retro kind of glamour look. After the shoot she selected this shot and I did a little magic to create the look she wanted.

Amy loved the end result saying, “It looks perfect, just like I had imagined.”

BBQ Pin-up

One of my boudoir photography clients last month wanted me to do a fun BBQ pin-up for valentines.   As a boudoir photographer herself, she knew there was one photographer that she would go to for her pin-up photographs – Orcatek Photography.

Of course the pin-up was a surprise, so she requested I wait until after valentines day before I showed it here on my blog.

As you can see we had a great time creating this photograph and many others.  When I create pin-up boudoir images I like to process them to create the effect of them being graphic art like some of the classic pin-ups of the past.

Bathing in B&W

Recently I had a chance to do a fun boudoir photography shoot where we had access to a bathtub full of bubbles.  A tub with bubble bath gives a photographer a chance to have some fun.

This photograph was originally planned to be a traditional color photograph, but every once in a while I will try an alternative treatment on an image to see where it can go.  In this case I found black and white to be  very effective.   Both Monique and I liked the B&W treatment over the color version of this photograph.

Even though I always have the final photograph in mind when I do click the shutter, I find that having an open mind during processing opens the door to some fun and interesting alternatives.

Monique said she liked how much more sexy the Black and White version looked.

Bridal Boudoir – Hall of Mirrors

What to give the groom as a special gift is a challenge that brides often face.   Bridal boudoir photography rapidly is becoming a great answer to that very question.  I love to shoot this type session as the bride to be is always so very excited, and I know the groom to be will never forget this very special private gift.

This time the room we shot in had lots of mirrors for me to work with.  I love mirrors when I shoot, of course they do present challenges for a photographer as it is often difficult to hide yourself when dealing with multiple mirrors such as in this shot.

Of course I am always up for a new challenge when I can make a future bride look this beautiful.  We had a really fun time during her shoot, and I know her groom will love the private label album she had created just for him.

Boudoir for Valentines

Valentines Day is approaching and one sexy gift that seems to always be very popular is boudoir photography. Every year an amazing variety of women come to the decision that glamour photographs would make the perfect, sexy gift for that someone special in their lives – husband, boyfriend and lovers. While posing as a your sexy self you might feel like you could feature on https://www.fuckedtube.xxx/ or another similar adult site, and your partner will most likely think the same when you surprise them with the sexy shots.

Each woman brings her own special style and sexiness to the session. Some choose to take that literally with products from Lovegasm, others have a more subtle note. As the photographer I consult with them prior to the shoot on ideas from lingerie to fantasy outfits. As a photographer, it can be easy to just assume that those being photographed will just be wearing lingerie, but some have kinks and fantasies of outfits they want their partner to see them in, and vice versa. For example, some will want to wear sexy costumes for the shoot, or perhaps they’ll find the hottest in Latex fashion bodysuit for their partner to admire. As a photographer, this variation is great and always sets a new challenge or new angles for me to work with. Additionally, some may get inspiration from a series of nsfw reviews from here, whilst others may be going for the more classical artistry angle. I work to learn their style so each shoot is different. Some clients want to add fine art nudes to the mix, others bring in motorcycles or even cars into the studio (nice to have enough space to shoot a car). Just when I think I’ve seen everything, someone will come up with a new request and I love it.

But my boudoir photography shoots are not limited to just shooting at The Studio, my Tempe photography studio. I do a lot of work on location as shown in the shot above. Some women like to shoot at local resorts and some even have me shoot in the privacy of their homes. Each location gives plenty of creative opportunities to create some sexy boudoir photographs for the special Valentines Day gift from you to him.

Boudoir prize winner gets her shoot

She couldn’t believe that she won.  She said that she never wins anything.   Well this time she did win, and it was going to be a very special prize.

She came down to the studio this weekend to receive her boudoir photography prize session.  She was very nervous as she had never done anything even remotely like this before.  I told her that most of my boudoir clients were just as nervous as her, if not more, as they too had never done this before.

She had brought someone to help her with outfits and provide moral support.  I never find that this really helps some of the women who come for boudoir shoots.  Others prefer to keep it a secret and come alone.

The typical boudoir session starts with a standard set of shots.  This allows my client to get use to being in front of the camera, and allows me to learn how they react and follow direction.   I did the same with my winner, and then towards then end of this very brief set I discussed her desires and ideas for what she was hoping to see in her photographs.

Once we had her desires and limits down, we progressed into the main session.  As we moved through the various sets and outfits I would stop every so often just to show her a few samples of what I was seeing through the camera.   She was amazed by what I was capturing.   She wanted to know how I could make her look so good without even retouching.   I explained that with some proper lighting and posing I was bringing out her true beauty.

The next day I sent her secure proofs out to her for her selection of final boudoir photographs.  Her first response, “I’m amazed at how well they turned out,”  followed quickly by the all too common, “I am having a very difficult time choosing.”

Once she gets me her selection list, the will be hand retouched to create the final photographs.  She will then see another secure proof before the are printed.

Sometimes people ask why there are often no pictures in my blog from a boudoir shoot.  My client’s privacy is very important to me.  As a result, I only show photographs with prior permission of my clients.
