First of all, I have been teaching constantly. And I have schedule a lot of photography classes and workshops. So now is the time to learn all my tricks.
I played around with water for a bunch of boudoir photographs. Be sure to check them out. Next summer I will be doing this again.
And maternity and newborn photography is always popular. I love it when my maternity clients return for their newborn photos. It lets me enjoy a bit of that special time in their life.
Orcatek Photography is now working with CinemaTique Creative Group to produce an wide variety of project including UFOria TV, Soldier (a new docudrama), music videos and educational services.
Of course we will still provide all the services we are known for such as amazing boudoir photography, beautiful maternity photographs, cute newborn photos, head shots, automotive photography and photography classes and workshops.
Time to catch everyone up on what has been happening here at my Phoenix Studio. Okay, technically Tempe, but drive 1/2 mile north and you are in Scottsdale, and 1/2 mile west and you are in Phoenix, so close enough.
I have been teaching more introduction to photography classes than I can count. Lots of eager students. I love teaching.
Doing more pin-up than usual. The studio is a great place for pin-up photography. Here is a sample pin-up I call Windy Day.
I always like to create something in the classic style of some of my favorite vintage pin-up artists like Gil Elvgren.
And just in time for Father’s Day I had the chance to create this touching father and son photo of a newborn baby and his dad.

My photography workshops and classes are becoming very popular. I have been teaching at least one class a week and have had private lessons in between.
The holiday season is a prime season for boudoir photography, which is why I have been lacking in my blog updates. Lots of men will be getting a very special present this year.
I also shot a lot of maternity and newborn photographer sessions. Some amazing new families came in for their shoots with some of the cutest newborn babies.
And of course the rest of my time was filled with holiday portraits.

Did some more filming for the reality show as a photographer. Hopefully I won’t end up on the cutting room floor. I will keep you posted as to when it airs.
Had some real fun creating this maternity photo recently. I am always looking for new ideas.
Also been shooting a lot of boudoir photography for holiday gifts. Several have chosen to add some fine art nudes such as this one.
I also been teaching more classes. Several introduction to photography classes and a Photoshop workshop. December has a bunch more classes coming. Check out my photography workshop site for more details.
The big news is that I was part of a reality show this week. I can’t reveal anything until it airs, sometime in December.
Pregnancy was the them as I have been very busy with some amazing future moms creating maternity portraits. I love it when they bring in some new ideas. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, they surprise me.
I was published again. This time in a national fashion magazine called Eliza. I did an underwater fashion shoot featuring retro swimwear.
Some interesting boudoir photo sessions also added to my schedule. Their custom books are going to arrive any day.
I also taught a lot of photography classes recently, including studio lighting workshop and fine art nude photography workshop.
This weekend’s introduction to photography class sold out early. There is still some room in the introduction to studio lighting. I also added two more introduction to photography class later in the month.
I shot some fun couples maternity photos this week. I love to shoot couples as part of a maternity photography session. It is great to show the love for a new baby.
Boudoir photos kept me so very busy this week. Lots of amazing women came to the studio for the photo shoots. Everyone wanted to remain private so I can’t show you any photos this time.
My favorite shoot was for Flashes of Hope at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. A great cause that I love to volunteer for whenever I can.

In between teaching I’ve had a lot of fun shooting. One of my favorites was a maternity pin-up photography session. As you can see, we had a lot of fun.

This week I hosted the Scottsdale Community College fashion photography class at my studio. The workshop was set up to provide the students with an opportunity to work in an actual studio to create some fashion images for their portfolios.
Everyone had a lot of fun and created some great photographs.
Above all, mastering the art of fashion photography is a useful skill for all aspiring fashionistas.
Whether you have dreams of fashion journalism, becoming the next big fashion blogger, or simply love collecting the latest designer pieces, being able to capture fashion on film is something that will always come in useful. Photography is so important for a lot of industries, especially for those working in fashion. They need good pictures of their products in order to sell them to customers, so having knowledge of fashion photography is important. However, if you aren’t fully confident with this yet, there are always companies offering fashion photography services to help businesses capture high-quality content. No matter how you do it, it’s just important that you are getting the best pictures of your clothing or designs to be able to promote them.
So many of my students have found that attending my fashion photography workshop has totally opened their eyes to an essential part of the fashion industry that they might not have considered before.
For example, one key lesson that I share with students is how to capture the perfect outfit of the day (or OOTD) post for social media. Everyone from fashion designers to the average social media user can now use a camera to capture an outfit, and therefore it makes sense to master the art of highlighting the details of a high fashion ensemble.
The best OOTD photos do not always feature the most expensive pieces either. I know plenty of successful fashion bloggers who use affordable replica pieces based on designs by big brands like Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.

Time is flying by and so many great shoots are happening. I had some fun shooting some pin-up photographs and this was one of my favorites from the shoot.
